Our fire pillows are manufactured from a durable, specially treated glass cloth filled with a mixture of mineral fibers and reactive expansion (intumescent) agents. On exposure to high temperatures from a fire the intumescent material expands and then hardens to provide a complete and durable seal against the passage of fire, smoke and hot gases.


Intumescent fire pillows can be used for creating either temporary or permanent fire barriers for wall structures in penetration areas and are ideal for sealing cable trays and ducts that penetrate fire resistant structures. Suitable for use in telephone exchanges, computer rooms and other areas where cable services are frequently modified.



Sealing of floors

Steel net (5 mm wired 50mmx50mm square mesh) is to be mechanically fastened to the ceiling or the floor or in the light of the hole through the vertical ends near the net edges. Pack tightly the pillow opening around the system. Pillows must be stacked carefully.

Three available sizes of Astro Pillow X SERIES enable to fit the pillow to the size of an opening.

Prior to installation, shake the pillow so that the filling spread evenly.

Put the pillow into the hole with the shortest side so that the pillows were stacked like bricks. Make sure that the lower layer meshes with the upper one.

Place the required number of pillows in the opening round the system elements, adding smaller pillows in places where it is necessary to fill the small voids. Make sure that all the gaps and voids are filled.
