Provides an effective acoustic barrier between fan / vent and ceiling. Easy to fit into existing ventilation systems. Lightweight and can be fitted from above or below the ceiling.
Recessed ceiling fans and ventilation ducts are widely used in both domestic and commercial buildings. Once a hole is made in the ceiling for a polymeric fan or vent, the fire integrity of the whole ceiling is reduced significantly. It must be isolated in order to keep its predicted fire integrity. Popularity of mechanical ventilation systems increases steadily due to their better efficiency than other solutions. However, centralized ventilation units and heat recovery units result in a building having both horizontal and vertical penetration holes through the structure, creating pathways for the passage of fire and smoke.
Use the outer diameter of the sleeve as a template, cut a hole in the ceiling to provide a better fit
Install a cap between the duct and the vent
